Even though the Progreso Red Ants have not done well against the San Isidro Tigers recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Progreso strolled past San Isidro with points to spare, taking the game 59-43. This was payback for Progreso, who suffered a 60-40 loss the last time these two teams met.
Sophia Pecina was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. The matchup was her 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorena Cerda, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Progreso has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for San Isidro, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Progreso will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lyford at 5:30 p.m. As for San Isidro, they will take on Natalia at 1:15 p.m. on Friday.
