The Canyon Comanches entered their tilt with the Yorba Linda Mustangs with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Canyon walked away with a 51-41 victory over Yorba Linda on Tuesday. Given Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Yorba Linda is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josh Goodall led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds. Goodall hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Jeremy Loreto was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists.
Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Yorba Linda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-8.
Canyon will head out on the road to take on Foothill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Foothill will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Yorba Linda will take on Villa Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
