Victory Baptist put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 68-64 W against the Union Grove Christian Patriots.

Victory Baptist's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Myles Lewis-Taggart, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine boards. Lewis-Taggart is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Terrell Odom was another key player, shooting 62% from the field to rack up 19 points and eight rebounds.

Victory Baptist was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Defeat or not, Union Grove Christian got some senior leadership from Ethan Smith and Calvin Miller. Smith went 7-for-11 on his way to 16 points and three steals, while Miller posted 21 points. Smith continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Johnson, who scored four points along with nine boards and four steals.

Victory Baptist's record now sits at 5-0. As for Union Grove Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Victory Baptist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-66 defeat against New Creation Christian Academy on the 6th. As for Union Grove Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 54-50 victory against Sugar Hill Christian Academy on the 6th.
