Airport has gone a perfect 7-0 against Dreher recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. Airport is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Airport came up short against Gilbert on Monday, falling 15-7.
Airport saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariana Feliciano, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Jayden Osborne was another, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dreher, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Richland Northeast on Thursday as they made off with a 13-3 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Blue Devils needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Rory McCormack made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Cailtin MacDonald and Tatiyana Murry did most of the damage at the plate: MacDonald went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Murry went 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave MacDonald a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Halayna Sumter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Airport's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Dreher, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.
Dreher's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Airport has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. It's a different story for Dreher, though, as they've only averaged .345. Will they be able to contain Airport's hitters?
Airport was able to grind out a solid win over Dreher in their previous meeting back in March, winning 17-14. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
