The Saugerties Sawyers's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-39 win over Roosevelt on the road. This was payback for Saugerties, who suffered a 66-47 loss the last time these two teams met.
Saugerties' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mccoy Rothe, who scored 15 points. Rothe continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Parisio, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Saugerties now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Roosevelt, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Wallkill the next time they take the court. Saugerties will host Wallkill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Roosevelt will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 31, 2024.
