Even though the Harrison Wildcats have not done well against the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. It was close, but Harrison ultimately received the gift of a 56-53 win from a begrudging Wildcatssquad. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory they have managed all season.
Harrison got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Donovan Mckain out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mckain has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Ward, who scored ten points.
Harrison has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Mt. Healthy, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Harrison will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Healthy will be home for the holidays to greet Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goshen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. Healthy in Ohio (Goshen is ranked 175th, while Mt. Healthy is ranked 679th).
