Megan Creech spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.
On the hitting side, Kerrigan Gooden was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Paola Eifler, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. West Lafayette has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Western struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
