Given Alhambra's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Berean Christian is ranked 916th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alhambra's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaimison Krause, who scored seven points along with nine assists and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Krause posted eight or more assists. Samuel Gillaspy was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Alhambra and bumps their season record up to 11-9. As for Berean Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Alhambra will be playing in front of their home fans against Concord at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Concord has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Berean Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Acalanes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Acalanes is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
