Valley and Florin are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The Valley Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Florin Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Valley and 13 for Florin dating back to last season.
Valley fell victim to Foothill's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 32-0 loss at the hands of the Mustangs.
Even if they lost, Valley's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Foothill's QB was sacked 3.5 times before it was all said and done. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Zaryan (ziggy) hall.
Meanwhile, Florin also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a serious blow against Johnson on Friday, falling 47-0. Florin was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Valley's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.0 points per game. As for Florin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Valley was dealt a bruising 36-0 loss at the hands of Florin when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Can Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
