Despite the loss, Cristo Rey St. Viator still got an impressive performance from Regina Madrigal, who scored 14 points. That was a full 100% of Cristo Rey St. Viator's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Moapa Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Cox, who scored 12 points along with four steals and two blocks. Cox is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Savanna Burt was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight assists and five steals.
Cristo Rey St. Viator's loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Moapa Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.
Cristo Rey St. Viator won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mountain View Christian at 3:00 p.m. on January 26th. Mountain View Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Moapa Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pahrump Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Pahrump Valley: 24, Moapa Valley: 27.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
