Brookside took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fairview Warriors, sneaking past 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.
Zach Doell was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jorden Colegrove, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Brookside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairview only posted an OBP of .321.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookside will challenge North Olmsted at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fairview, they will head out to face off against Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
