D2 District 5 (8 Man) recap Oct. 9, 2012
Giltner extended the longest winning streak in D2 District 5 (8 Man) this week by beating Pleasanton, 74-24. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Hornets.
Giltner led the league in scoring this week after putting up 74 points on the Bulldogs. Jake Findley threw for 172 yards and ran for 68 yards in the win.
Jeff Ashby's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dustin Hastings helped Giltner's passing attack out by catching four balls for 92 yards.
Ryan Kleier was the best wideout in the league this week as the Hornets beat Pleasanton. Kleier racked up four receptions for 120 yards.
Giltner's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Findley has thrown for 1670 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, while Kyle Hawthorne has 35 catches for 612 yards. Findley also leads the league in rushing with 252 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Spalding Academy takes on Giltner. The Knights have allowed 125 points this season, while the Hornets have given up 79.
