North Murray is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Thursday. They will host the North Cobb Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
North Murray had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Dalton on Monday. The Mountaineers were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Catamounts. The Mountaineers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Chanley Langham tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Cobb Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past King's Ridge Christian 6-5.
Faith Sonnenberg was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Edwards, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
North Cobb Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for North Murray, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
North Murray skirted past North Cobb Christian 8-7 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
