The Twin Lakes Indians will venture away from home to face off against the South Newton Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Friday, Twin Lakes got the win against Caston by a conclusive 15-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Myley Spriggs spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leah Shrock, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Miya Clerget, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Twin Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Newton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Faith Christian 11-2 on Tuesday. The match marked the Rebels' most dominant win of the season so far.
Briley Iseminger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Faye Springsteen was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Kimber Cruz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
South Newton pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Twin Lakes, their record is now 3-6.
