Both teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lincoln has five straight victories, Florida State University High School has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lincoln put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Leon at home to the tune of 68-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Lincoln has posted since December 20, 2023.
Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamiya Brown led the charge by scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Amari Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Florida State University High School came up short against Forest on Saturday and fell 50-39.
Lincoln pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Florida State University High School, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Lincoln beat Florida State University High School 51-44 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
