Rancho San Juan and Seaside are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2019, but not for long. The Trailblazers are taking a road trip to take on the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rancho San Juan will be strutting in after a victory while Seaside will be coming in after a loss.
Rancho San Juan proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out North Monterey County 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Trailblazers in their matchups with the Condors: they've now won four in a row.
Rancho San Juan took North Monterey County into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 26-24, 21-25, 16-25, 25-13, 15-13.

Delylah Magdaleno had a dynamite game, getting nine digs and five aces. What's more, she racked up 23 assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.
Magdaleno wasn't the only good servers: Rancho San Juan was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Seaside lost 3-0 to Marina on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Mariners: they've now lost three in a row.
Seaside was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 27-25, 29-27.
Rancho San Juan's victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Seaside, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.
Rancho San Juan was able to grind out a solid win over Seaside in their previous matchup on October 6th, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trailblazers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
