Millard hasn't had much luck against South Sevier recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will face off against the Rams at 3:30 p.m.
Millard made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Summit, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-4 on Friday.
Kamdyn Frampton and Zach Higgins stepped up to the plate in a big way. Frampton went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Higgins went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Power Jernigan also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, while South Sevier put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Grand County. The Rams were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Red Devils. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Gus Ingram was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because South Sevier is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise. Ingram was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Grady Heaps was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Krew Winkel was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
South Sevier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grand County only managed four.
The win made it two in a row for South Sevier and bumps their season record up to 8-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Millard, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
Millard might still be hurting after the 18-0 loss they got from South Sevier in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
