Softball Recap: Limestone Sets Scoring Season-High Against Richwoods

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Limestone). Everything went their way against the Richwoods Knights on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-6 win. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

BRIANNA BIRKETT was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. Those RBI were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of ALLISON MEHN, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Limestone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Limestone back to even at 3-3. As for Richwoods, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Limestone will face off against Peoria Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Richwoods, they will square off against Mahomet-Seymour at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
