The Canyon Comanches came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 54-50 W over Crespi.
Josh Goodall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Loreto, who scored 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Crespi lost, one person who can't be blamed is Peyton White. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. White scored a full 38% of Crespi's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Joe Sterling, who scored nine points.
Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Crespi, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-3.
Canyon will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against San Gabriel Academy at 2:00 p.m. on January 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (San Gabriel Academy is ranked 53rd, while Canyon is ranked 39th). Crespi and Harvard-Westlake will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
