The Christian Brothers Falcons will head out to square off against the Johnson Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Johnson will be up against a hot Christian Brothers team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Christian Brothers came out on top against Cordova by a score of 10-5 on Tuesday.
Jaden Fonts made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
In other batting news, Kaylee Foster was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 4-for-4. Those home runs were her first of the season. Isabella Sheppard was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Christian Brothers hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johnson). They were the clear victor by an 18-0 margin over Natomas on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Nighthawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Anissa Zavala and DeAhjanuque Salter made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Zavala tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Salter pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zavala has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Zavala went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Salter scored a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Valicianna Collins-Hogan, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Clarissa Aceves-Fonseca, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Johnson's record is now 4-0. As for Christian Brothers, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
