The Calexico Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calexico in their matchups with Central: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dany Carreon, who scored 22 points. Edgar Mendoza was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jared Martin, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Martin hasn't dropped below 15points for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was David Lopez, who scored 17 points.
Calexico's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calexico will take on Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwest EC is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Imperial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Imperial's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
