The St. Ursula Academy Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Mercy McAuley Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Ursula Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Friday, St. Ursula Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Seton, taking the game 7-3.

O Basil spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, St. Ursula Academy let V Oberkorn and A Cosgray run wild. Oberkorn scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Cosgray scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Oberkorn is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was A Bunner, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Mercy McAuley sidestepped Princeton for a 10-9 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.
Maddie Sucietto was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Olding, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
St. Ursula Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Mercy McAuley, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Mercy McAuley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Ursula Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Mercy McAuley, though, as they've been averaging 9.9 hits. Given St. Ursula Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Wolves will need to find a way to close that gap.
St. Ursula Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Mercy McAuley in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, winning 7-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
