After four games on the road, South Plantation is heading back home. They will take on the Nova Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in South Plantation's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
Last Monday, South Plantation was able to grind out a solid victory over Southridge, taking the game 65-53. Given South Plantation's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Southridge is ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Plantation got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Harry Gelin out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Dwight Stephens was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Nova's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 59-41 to Santaluces.
South Plantation is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Nova, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
South Plantation beat Nova 77-65 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will South Plantation repeat their success, or does Nova have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
