There wasn't a lot of overall movement in the power rankings this week, but with ten teams changing position, that doesn't mean the week lacked for thrills. Among the action were the efforts of Lehi's senior Cammon Cooper, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Lehi's 41 - 21 win over Springville last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Cammon Cooper. Cooper threw for 330 yards and five touchdowns. That performance made Cooper one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Movin on Up
South Summit has been an offensive powerhouse for eight straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It breezed past Beaver with a final score of 38 - 10. Junior Jared Dansie was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns). The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by five, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
Corner Canyon and Skyridge went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (67) among all power ranked teams. Corner Canyon and Skyridge were almost perfectly matched up, but Corner Canyon suffered an agonizing 34 - 33 defeat. The quarterback felt the loss most of all -- literally. After six sacks, he is probably hoping to get a little more protection in the future.
