Christ Prep Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Lighthouse Christian Chargers to the tune of 41-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Patriots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 29th in Kansas, while the Chargers are ranked 243rd in Missouri).
Christ Prep Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Justice Criniere out in front who threw for 241 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. Criniere also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss). Elijah Ross was another key rusher, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Christ Prep Academy's defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Samuel Savenok and Daniel Savenok, who racked up five sacks between them. Daniel also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine.
Christ Prep Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Lighthouse Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Christ Prep Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Atlas HomeSchool at 4:00 p.m. on the 19th.
