On Friday, the Arbor View Aggies faced the Liberty Patriots in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Arbor View strolled past Liberty with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. Winning is a bit easier when you drain six more threes than your opponent, as Arbor View did.
It was another big night for Pharaoh Compton, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trammell Darden, Jr, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Liberty lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyus Thomas, who scored 11 points along with eight assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Riley, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Arbor View's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Liberty, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.
Arbor View and Somerset Academy Losee will face off on December 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Somerset Academy Losee is ranked tenth, while Arbor View is ranked third). Liberty and Moreau Catholic will face off at 9:30 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
