Marc Donati made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Camden Valle was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Michael Tomkiewicz, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Diman RVT, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Brockton with a sharp 8-0 victory on Friday.
Like Old Colony RVT, Diman RVT also got a great game from a two-way player: Samuel Perry. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Perry was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Perreira, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Cam Falcon was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Diman RVT's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Old Colony RVT, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Old Colony RVT might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Diman RVT in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
