Interscholastic League [ILH] recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Interscholastic League [ILH] this week, Punahou beat Farrington 48-6. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Punahou took down the Governors 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Larry Tuileta threw for 430 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win.
Kale Ane's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Kotoni "KJ" Sekona chipped in 28 yards. Dakota Torres helped Punahou's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 83 yards.
He went 23-34 with 1 interception.
Sekona was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 28 yards on 3 carries as the Buff n' Blue defeated Farrington. Teammate Wayne Taulapapa added to the ground attack by rushing for 21 yards.
Punahou's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Buff n' Blue feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tuileta has thrown for 1,991 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Noa has 48 catches for 1,094 yards.
Punahou's Tuileta is within 9 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Mililani.
The Buff n' Blue's Taulapapa is a mere 77 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Taulapapa has rushed for 923 yards on 140 carries so far this year.
Punahou led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Randall Okimoto's team. Tuileta during the win.
