On Thursday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Pasadena had to settle for a 48-46 defeat against Bellville.
Despite the defeat, Pasadena saw an underclassman step up: Caryme Molina dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Molina scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Yvette Torres, who scored four points.
Bellville found their leader in underclassman Addison Hollomon, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Watson, who scored ten points.
Pasadena has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Bellville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Pasadena will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Brazos at 10:20 a.m. on December 8th. Brazos comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Bellville, they will square off against Navasota at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday. Navasota presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bellville in Texas (Navasota is ranked 379th, while Bellville is ranked 1038th).
