Volleyball Recap: Salida Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Salida lost to Del Norte back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Spartans walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Tigers.

Salida easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Lucy Hughes and Braeden Johnson, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Madisyn Wilcox and her 18 assists. Johnson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Salida is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Del Norte, they dropped their record down to 9-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Salida wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against North Fork on the 1st. As for Del Norte, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Meeker on the 1st.
