The Graves County Eagles will stay at home for another game and welcome the Calloway County Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Graves County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Calloway County is ranked eighth).
Graves County's 25-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Whitefield Academy 42-36.
Meanwhile, Calloway County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past Trinity 63-33 on the road.
Jaidan Koch and Sayler Lowe were among the main playmakers for Calloway County as the former dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Koch has scored at least 25% of Calloway County's points. Another player making a difference was Madison Futrell, who scored 7 points along with 9 assists and 5 steals.
Graves County now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Calloway County, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Graves County was able to grind out a solid victory over Calloway County in their previous matchup back in January, winning 45-34. Does Graves County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calloway County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
