The Cabrillo Conquistadores came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Everett Alvarez on the road to the tune of 49-22. The result was nothing new for Cabrillo, who have now won five matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Cabrillo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylie Jenkins, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie McCune, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Cabrillo's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Everett Alvarez, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Cabrillo won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mercy at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Mercy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 982nd, while Cabrillo is ranked 157th). As for Everett Alvarez, they will head out on the road to face off against Hollister at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
