Cedar Creek moved up to 98 from 190 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Cape-Atlantic - National. A 21-7 win over Oakcrest helped the Pirates improve their standing.
Middle Township was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in the league. The Panthers beat Pleasantville 42-8 earlier in the week.
St. Augustine Prep's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Hughes threw for 60 yards and Hade Smith had 36 yards receiving. On the ground Calvin Cass chipped in 238 yards. Hughes helped St. Augustine Prep's passing attack out by catching one ball for 21 yards.
St. Augustine Prep's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hermits feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hughes has thrown for 437 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Austin Francisco has 10 catches for 191 yards. Cass leads the league in rushing with 640 yards.
Two of the top units in Cape-Atlantic - National will face off this week when the Hermits take on Ocean City. St. Augustine Prep's offense has racked up 132 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Raiders have allowed only 150 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Buena takes on Cedar Creek. The Chiefs are in third place, while Tim Watson's team is in second place.
Mark Reardon's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Vineland. Cass threw for 21 yards in the win.
