The Vacaville Christian Falcons will head out to square off against the Dixon Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Vacaville Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Dixon likes a good challenge.
Vacaville Christian's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Golden Sierra with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Falcons have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Wyatt Hedlund and Dylan Eddings made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hedlund tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Eddings pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hedlund has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Hedlund earned two runs and two stolen bases, while Eddings went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Isaac Stanley and Zachary Romeo did most of the damage at the plate: Stanley went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Romeo went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Romeo is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Jack Kimball was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Vacaville Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Dixon was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They fell just short of Wood by a score of 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.
Maddox Gilday was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases.
Vacaville Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Dixon, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
Vacaville Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Dixon in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
