Menlo-Atherton and Archbishop Riordan are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Menlo-Atherton Bears will welcome the Archbishop Riordan Crusaders at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Menlo-Atherton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Menlo School by a score of 4-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Wes Peterson looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, David Lopez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Menlo-Atherton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Menlo School struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Riordan earned a 10-6 win over El Camino on Saturday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Santino Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Oliver, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Oliver is also crushing it when it comes to RBI: he's brought in at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Logan Tuman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Menlo-Atherton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Archbishop Riordan, their win bumped their record up to 2-0-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Menlo-Atherton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Archbishop Riordan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Menlo-Atherton's way against Archbishop Riordan in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Menlo-Atherton made off with a 14-7 victory. Will Menlo-Atherton repeat their success, or does Archbishop Riordan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
