The Concordia Mustangs will take on the West Point-Beemer Cadets in a tournament on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Concordia has nine straight wins, West Point-Beemer has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Concordia will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Oakland-Craig, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Knights last Thursday.
Concordia walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 15-25, 25-20, 25-13.

Concordia can attribute much of their success to Alyse Moulton, who had 19 assists and 12 digs, and Kyra McNair, who had 17 digs and five assists. Moulton has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last nine times she's played. Emily Fulton also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Meanwhile, West Point-Beemer suffered their biggest loss since September 2nd on Tuesday. They came up short against Wayne, falling 3-0.
West Point-Beemer was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Wayne work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-23, 27-25, 25-19.
West Point-Beemer's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Concordia, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.
Concordia was able to grind out a solid win over West Point-Beemer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
