The Purnell Swett Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jack Britt. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Purnell Swett of the 56-36 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jodi Freeman, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Sampson, who scored 13 points.
Jack Britt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kam?ron Barnes, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barnes has scored all season. Tysean Major was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven assists and four steals.
Purnell Swett dropped their record down to 4-14 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Jack Britt, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Purnell Swett will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Rams like a good challenge. As for Jack Britt, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Seventy-First is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
