Douglas found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 27-61 punch to the gut against Sturgis Brown on Friday. The state rankings had actually given Douglas a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
The loss dropped Douglas's record to 0-1. The win bumped Sturgis Brown's record up to 0-1.
Both teams will be heading out of the conference in their next games. Douglas will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Riggs at 6:00 PM. As for Sturgis Brown, they will face off against Rapid City Central.
