Whitney Young extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 8-5. They blew past the Jones Eagles 13-1. The Dolphins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Claire Swanborn was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Whitney Young got a massive performance out of Itzel Jaime, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Jaime has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Schuler, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Whitney Young always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
As for Jones, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 27, 2019, but that streak is no more.
On Jones' side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Paskiewicz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Looking ahead, Whitney Young will be taking part in a tournament against Buffalo Grove at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Jones, they will challenge Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
