The Jackson Red Devils lost against the Upson-Lee Knights last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Jackson took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Upson-Lee.
Morgan Smith and Ariyah Burke certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Smith scored 15 points along with three steals, while Burke scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season.
Jackson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Upson-Lee, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Mary Persons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mary Persons is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Upson-Lee, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Peach County at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. Peach County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Upson-Lee in Georgia (Peach County is ranked 135th, while Upson-Lee is ranked 291st).
