Despite their loss, Fox Creek saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kobe Sims, who posted 23 points, was perhaps the best of all. The matchup was Sims' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Justin Vining, who had 13 points.
Meanwhile, Harlem waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 57-50. 57 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Fox Creek better focus on containing Jayden Futrell and Ronald Oliver as the pair were huge in Harlem's win. Futrell dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Oliver made all 5 shots he took to post 13 points and four steals. Futrell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Dai'John Sanders was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.
Harlem smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.
Harlem's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Fox Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Fox Creek and Harlem are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Fox Creek hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.5 points per game. However, it's not like Harlem struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.7 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Fox Creek ended up a good deal behind Harlem when the teams last played back in November of 2023, losing 87-70. Can Fox Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
