Sumner-Eddyville-Miller is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Potter-Dix 62-14. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sumner-Eddyville-Miller to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chance Daake, who threw for 198 yards and three TDs on only eight passes, and also rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown. Daake also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making six total tackles (3.0 for loss). Another rusher making a difference was Jordan Scoville, who rushed for 125 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries.
Meanwhile, Southwest blew past Lewiston, posting a 60-6 victory. The Roughriders' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller better keep an eye on Houston Billeter. He was instrumental in Southwest's win, rushing for 30 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 80 yards and three TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing. Billeter has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Damario Koetter was in the mix as well, providing Southwest with two scores.
Southwest didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Lewiston to a completion percentage of just 41.2%. The Roughriders have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.61 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.61 in their last three games.
Southwest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Gage Hammond, Bo Truksa, and Brody Hammond, who each picked up one interception apiece.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's record is now 7-2. As for Southwest, their record now sits at 9-0.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller was dealt a bruising 65-30 loss at the hands of Southwest in their previous meeting back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Billeter, who threw for 379 yards and six TDs while picking up 15.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 111 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.
