Despite the loss, Wilkes Central still got an impressive performance from Anna Rollins, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Sydney Rowe, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Wilkes Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for East Surry, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilkes Central will square off against North Wilkes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Surry, they will head out on the road to square off against Forbush at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
