The Parkland Mustangs lost against the West Forsyth Titans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Parkland took a 70-51 bruising from West Forsyth. While losing is never fun, Parkland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while West Forsyth is ranked 90th).
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Moore, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Jackson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Parkland struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Parkland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for West Forsyth, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkland will be home for the holidays to greet Atkins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atkins is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. West Forsyth will be home for the holidays to greet Northwest Guilford at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
