The Lakeview Bulldogs lost against the Struthers Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lakeview suffered a rough 67-46 loss at the hands of the Wildcats.
Lakeview's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyle Senkowitz, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Isaiah Lantz who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lantz pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hayden Newton, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lakeview has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Struthers, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeview will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (Hubbard is ranked 577th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 574th). As for Struthers, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poland Seminary will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
