For the first time this season, Marathon will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to take on the Moore Haven Terriers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Marathon came out on top against Berean Christian on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Dolphins blew past the Bulldogs 11-1. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Gabriele Cirina made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Jack Chapman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those hits were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Buigas, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Marathon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berean Christian only posted a batting average of .056.
Meanwhile, Moore Haven got themselves on the board against Pahokee on Thursday, but Pahokee never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Blue Devils. With that win, the Terriers brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Huck Honnerlaw, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Wuilfredo Hernandez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Marathon now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Moore Haven, their record is now 3-1.
