Johnson-Brock is 8-2 against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Johnson-Brock Eagles will get right back to it and host the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Johnson-Brock is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
On Thursday, Johnson-Brock didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Freeman, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory.
Johnson-Brock's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brody Koehler, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Casen Dalinghaus, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Dalinghaus, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer struggled with assists on Tuesday (Tri County had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer took a serious blow against Tri County, falling 58-28. While losing is never fun, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Tri County is ranked 40th).
The losing side was boosted by Hunter Bohling, who scored six points along with five assists and three steals.
Johnson-Brock pushed their record up to 20-0 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.6 points. As for Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Johnson-Brock have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Johnson-Brock against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 73-37 victory. With Johnson-Brock ahead 44-20 at the half, the match was all but over already.
