Even though the Broughton Capitals have not done well against the Heritage Huskies recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Broughton walked away with a 46-34 victory over Heritage. Winning may never get old, but Broughton sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kalajah Wright was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Clara Risinger was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Broughton's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Heritage, they bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broughton will be home for the holidays to greet South Garner at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Heritage will be home for the holidays to greet Jordan at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
