Calhoun scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances, while Shee scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Calhoun has posted since back in April of 2024. George Bennett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Meade County hadn't done well against Central Hardin recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Meade County had just enough and edged out Central Hardin 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Waves.
Lucas Hail was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Cockerill, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Eastern's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Meade County, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
