Even though the Bordentown Scotties scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Burlington Township Falcons still came out on top. Burlington Township walked away with a 67-59 victory over Bordentown. That's two games straight that Burlington Township has won by exactly eight points.
Aaron Ferguson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Irving Singletary, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Bordentown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andrew DeCosta, who scored 16 points along with two blocks. DeCosta has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Ari Miller was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Burlington Township pushed their record up to 17-5 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Bordentown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burlington Township won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pemberton at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Burlington Township is facing Pemberton at the right time seeing as Pemberton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bordentown, they will be playing at home against Florence Township Memorial at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bordentown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
